"In Our Little Town"

14th November, 2007. 12:57 pm. What I didn't like (still spoilery)

Yes, more spoilers be here! But I am working on some non-spoiler reviews, etc for upcoming entries for all you spoiler-phobes! Not to worry, I haven't forgotten you!

What I didn't like about the movie (with spoilers behind the cut) )

Make Notes

24th October, 2007. 1:36 pm. The Stand Out Townspeople! ('nuther Spoiler Warning!)

I put on my review for the screeners that these people made the movie what it is. I let them know that's why I selected "In Our Little Town" as my title choice (of 3 possible options). I told them that they should have included more scenes with Jared/Kinkade interacting with them. Without the wonderful talents of the gifted actors/actresses listed below, this movie would have fallen on its proverbial face.

7th October, 2007. 1:04 pm. The Mentor and The Family

 Another Spoiler Warning!
O'Toole, the WELB, Dad and the Brother
I'll review the Townspeople in my next entry, but here, I'll start with the ones closest to Kinkade himself. His family and his Mentor. This isn't a movie about Thomas Kinkade, Painter Extraordinaire. This is a movie about the influences in his life. And these are the people who influenced him most...

6th October, 2007. 7:47 pm. The Actors - Jared Padalecki

Okay, sorry for the delay in getting this online! My job has been crazy! Please forgive me.

Warning!!! Spoilers Behind the Cut!

We’ll start with Jared, of course. And I warned ya, there will be movie spoilers in these reviews. So, for above the cut, I’ll give you this:
For those who want to know, no, there was no real fuzz on his face. just a tiny hint of 3 o'clock shadow (switched to 5 o'clock in one scene and then back again. LOL). And his hair was as shaggy as ever :D
He dressed in typical 1976/77 art student clothes – comfortable jeans, overalls, etc. There was one shirt, that I must say bugged me even more than Jensen’s yellow plaid one does some of you. Something about it, I just really didn’t like, but then maybe it’s cause I remember that particular shirt being so popular, although I also remember that it was a soft, cozy cotton. I keep telling myself how soft the shirt is and how nice would it be to cuddle up to Jared wearing it. ;)
On the topic of clothing – the wool hats need to go. They cover up the beautiful shaggy locks, but again, the style of the times, so the wardrobe department nailed it for this movie. And that scarf? What can I say? Oh my god!

18th September, 2007. 2:29 pm. The Movie – no real spoilers other than synopsis and related comments

Again, here is the synopsis provided by the screening company.
And here’s the Official Movie Web Site (at this writing, it’s blank, but there it is)

First, I should say that I’m all Dean when it comes to movies – no chick flicks, and Hell NO on x-mas flicks. That being said, this is a chick/x-mas/Christian (apparently) flick. I gotta tell ya, I expected not to like it and told myself to concentrate only on Jared’s face to stay awake. I didn’t need to worry about that.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE... )

Current mood: impressed.

31st August, 2007. 11:15 pm. The Screening

I was one of the lucky few who got to preview Jared’s upcoming movie, currently under production as “The Christmas Cottage” (working title). In addition to a screening survey we were given after the movie, we were also given a choice of three possible titles for the movie – The Christmas Cottage, In Our Little Town, and a third option. Please forgive me that I didn’t write down all the details but I didn’t know if I got caught taking notes whether I would be asked to leave, so everything is strictly from memory. Sorry!

Screening Review )

Current mood: giddy.
Current music: My Little Town.
